Provide Wireless Connectivity and Mine Helium Tokens

Mining Helium tokens (IOT and MOBILE) is done by installing a simple device on your home or office window. That’s it. Seriously.

Hotspots provide miles of wireless network coverage for millions of devices across two wireless standards (LoRaWAN and cellular), and you are rewarded in Helium tokens for doing this. LoRaWAN Hotspots are incredibly energy efficient using only 5W of energy.

Devices such as the AUS-iot Water and Electricity Consumption Monitor use LoRaWAN to communicate with a network of Helium Miners as installed in Nelson Mandela Bay by Straton Electrical.

Those devices typically cost a small amount per month for connectivity – money that makes its way to Helium who redistribute a portion of that – based on the number of queries handled – in mining tokens to miners providing wireless connectivity.

You need:

  1. A Hotspot Device (see below for some suggested devices)
  2. An always on onternet connection
  3. A power supply (preferably on a UPS)
